DIY decorations

Scene Setters

You can get a SpongeBob scene setter decoration for your party room, like a backdrop of Bikini Bottom or a character cutouts, it will look great and professional.

You can make your own paper lanterns in the shape of SpongeBob or his friends. You can use construction paper and a simple pattern to create the lantern shape, and then use a small light or LED to illuminate it.

Shells and seaweed

You can gather up some small shells and seaweed from the beach and use them to decorate the party area. You can also make DIY seaweed decorations by cutting out green streamers and attaching them to the walls.

If you have an old fish tank that’s not in use, you can use it to create a unique decoration for the party. You can fill it with water and add some small plastic or stuffed animal fish to create a “Bikini Bottom” scene.

Cardboard

You can make use of cardboard as material to create DIY decorations. Cut out a few Spongebob characters, create a pineapple house and various other elements from the show out of cardboard, and make it look like a Bikini Bottom set up.

SpongeBob Invitations

You can get creative and make your own invitations by drawing SpongeBob and his friends on cardstock paper, and then writing your party details on the back. This is a great way to add a personal touch to the invitations.

You can find free SpongeBob-themed printable invitations online. You can customize them with your party details and then print them out and mail them or give them in person.

Krabby Patties

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Sandy’s Acorn Squash

Plankton’s Chum Bucket

A fun and silly way to serve up some snacks would be to create a “chum bucket” in the style of Plankton’s restaurant. You can fill it with a variety of snacks, such as chips, crackers, and pretzels, and serve it with a side of “chum” (dip).

Gummy Krabby Patties

A fun and easy option for kids would be to make gummy krabby patties using gummy cand mold, in different flavours like lime, orange, strawberry etc.

Starfish Sandwiches

Cut sandwiches into star shape using star-shaped cookie cutters, and call them “Starfish Sandwiches” as a nod to Patrick Star. You can fill them with peanut butter and jelly, cream cheese and cucumber, or turkey and cheese, depending on your preference.

Bubble gum soda

7D2AB6CE D180 4B79 AED2 7E874A7747AC

You can make a fun bubbly drink by adding a few drops of bubble gum flavor in any soda, like lemon-lime soda, cranberry or even regular cola.

Kelp Juice

2945A935 E332 4E97 99A3 00D87B7C6973

Serve up green-colored punch or juice and call it “kelp juice” after the underwater plant. You could add a few drops of green food coloring to a batch of lemonade or limeade to get the right color.

Find the Golden Spatula

Create a scavenger hunt where the kids have to find a golden spatula (you can make one out of cardboard or paper) hidden around the party area. The first one to find it wins a prize!

Build a Sandcastle

Provide each child with a small bucket and shovel, and have them compete to build the best-looking sandcastle (using sand and some small decorative items). You can use instant oats instead of real sand.

Krabby Patty Toss

Create a game where kids take turns throwing a beanbag or small plush toy shaped like a Krabby Patty into a cardboard cutout of a fry basket.

Bikini Bottom Boogie

Play some fun and upbeat music and have a dance party with the kids, encouraging them to dress up as their favorite SpongeBob characters and get in the spirit of the party.

SpongeBob Memory

Create a memory matching game using SpongeBob characters, where the kids have to match the characters to win a prize.

Create a SpongeBob Scene

Provide kids with some art supplies, such as paper, pencils, and crayons, and have them create their own scene from the show. You can hold a small competition and the winner gets a prize.

Musical Jellyfish

Play a game of musical chairs, but with a jellyfish theme – you can use inflatable beach balls for the chairs and play sea-themed music.

Bubble Battle

Divide the kids into teams and have them compete to see who can blow the most bubbles in a set amount of time. You can use a regular bubble solution or make your own using water and dish soap.

DIY Bubble wands

Provide each child with a small plastic container and some pipe cleaners to create their own bubble wand to take home. You can also include a small container of homemade bubble solution for them to use.

Sea creature erasers

Give each child a small sea creature-shaped eraser, such as a crab, starfish, or octopus, to take home as a reminder of the fun they had at the party.

SpongeBob Stickers

Print or purchase SpongeBob-themed stickers and place them in small bags for each child to take home.

SpongeBob Temporary Tattoos

Purchase temporary tattoos featuring SpongeBob and his friends and put them in small bags for each child to take home.

Krabby Patty magnets

Make simple, small, circular magnets with images of Krabby Patties and give them to the kids as a reminder of the party.

Jellyfish Keychains

Create small jellyfish keychains using beads and pipe cleaners for the kids to take home.

Under the Sea coloring book

Print or purchase small coloring books featuring SpongeBob and his friends and give them to the kids as a party favor.

By following these simple steps and using your imagination, you can host an exciting and memorable SpongeBob-themed birthday party for your kids without breaking the bank.

Try to use items you have at home and be creative. You can also try to find deals and discounts on some of the items you need. Remember to always check online stores before buying them. Remember, the most important thing is to have fun and make some great memories!
